615 honden gered uit een truck: Een smeekbede om hulp in 12 foto's

Hondje nummer 556......."Laat me niet dood gaan "

Dear Erna,

If you only read one email today, please make it this one. Approximately 615 dogs have been seized from a butcher’s truck in China. They are alive but only just – and the situation is desperate. Please help.

Soi Dog Foundation has pledged emergency assistance to Chinese activists who stopped the truck of terror, saving over six hundred dogs in the process. The driver and his passenger ran for their lives as fearless volunteers ambushed the vehicle and unloaded cages of terrified dogs.
One of the heart-breaking scenes the activists faced.

The determined volunteers involved in this rescue did not pay to get any of these dogs, all of whom have now been transferred to a makeshift shelter in Henan province. This facility was never designed to cope with so many dogs. It was constructed in haste and out of sheer desperation.

Erna, a desperate situation has now become a life-or-death emergency but you have the power to help these dogs.

A handful of volunteers and veterinarians are now battling to provide urgent medical treatment and adequate care to hundreds of dogs, in a facility that can’t cope. Additional funding is critical if they are to stand a chance.
She's been saved from slaughter. Please don't let her die now.

Weather conditions are worsening, meaning already weak dogs will be more susceptible to illness. Limited supplies of medication are running low and construction work needs to be carried out urgently to make the shelter fit for purpose. The dedicated volunteers are at breaking point from exhaustion. Please don't let their heroic efforts have been for nothing. Take action now.
Dogs and volunteers are both at breaking point. Please help them.

Your kind donation will be immediately put to use to save the lives of these desperate dogs. It will fund vital shelter improvements, including additional roofing to protect the dogs from torrential rain and relentless sun, improved intensive care facilities, better drainage, and upgraded infrastructure to safely segregate the animals.

The extreme situation means the rescued dogs must be provided with medical treatment and care 24 hours a day. At night, the only lighting available is with headlamps.

Your compassionate gift will mean adequate lighting can be installed and additional veterinarians and medical supplies can be provided. Crucially, your support will mean the fight against Asia’s dog meat trade is strengthened and more dogs can be saved.

If you already contribute towards ending the dog meat trade, then I humbly thank you for your support and urge you to make your animal loving friends aware of this situation.

Below is dog number 556, one of hundreds rescued. Your support will ensure that she, and countless others, can be given a name, medical care, a safe and warm place to sleep, and ultimately, a loving home. Let's make it happen.

Thank you for always being there for suffering animals.

P.S. As you read this, a handful of dedicated animal lovers are fighting to keep these dogs alive. Please donate now so that together, we can make it happen.
